We are so excited for our Celebration of Adoption Banquet on Thursday, October 27th. This is an event that we look forward to all year long, and it’s amazing to see so many people come together who have been impacted by adoption and want to share in our mission. We caught up with our Director of Social Services, Jody Edwards, and she’s sharing a sneak peek about what you can expect from this year’s event!

What is the Celebration of Adoption Banquet?

Celebration of Adoption is an annual fund-raising banquet for the New Beginnings Adoptions ministry.  It’s an evening to honor the joy and beauty of adoption, and we are so excited to have so many people together who are passionate about the same mission.

Who can attend the Celebration of Adoption Banquet?

Anyone can attend the event! We love seeing familiar faces who have come and supported New Beginnings for years, and it’s also exciting to meet new people who are coming to support our mission for the first time this year!

What’s your favorite part about the event?

There are so many amazing moments that happen at Celebration of Adoption, and that’s why we look forward to it all year long! We love getting to see adoptive families who have allowed New Beginnings to be a part of their adoption journey.

What can attendees look forward to this year?

Each year, we serve a meal and listen to an amazing speaker.  This year our speaker is David Scotton.  Mr. Scotton is an attorney in New Orleans, LA.  He was placed for adoption after his birthmother walked out of an abortion clinic in 1993.  In September, a movie inspired by Mr. Scotton’s story will be in theaters.  The movie is called Lifemark and stars Kirk Cameron.
