When we talk to birthmothers and forever families blessed by New Beginnings, they say “Thank You” over and over again, because without New Beginnings they would not be celebrating as they will this year. They offer thanks to us from grateful hearts, but it was your unselfish giving and generous support that allowed New Beginnings to provide help when they called on us. By sharing your giving story on social media, you can encourage others to support New Beginnings too.
This year on Giving Tuesday–the Tuesday after Thanksgiving when the world is encouraged to show their thankfulness by giving to the charity of their choice–we’re asking our social media friends and followers to do two things:
- Give $9 to support the work of New Beginnings
- Share an “unselfie” of you telling why you give to our work
- Share your unselfie and the giving links on your social media sites

Giving is the easy part, but what is an “unselfie”? The enormous numbers of “selfies” covering social media makes us believe our world is a selfish, self-centered place. Your donation of just $9 proves you want to do more. Take a piece of paper and write “#Unselfie: I give to New Beginnings because…” and fill in your reason.

Share your picture, along with the links to our giving site, on social media. Ask your friends and followers to give just $9 to support New Beginnings too. We’d love it if you tag us in your posts so we can share those with our followers as well. You can use the hashtags #unselfie #GivingTuesday and #NewBeginnings.
