Are you considering adoption? This is an amazing option for your child that offers stability for their future. This decision is filled with different emotions, but our team is here to walk you through every step. We believe that making an adoption plan is one of the most beautiful and brave things you will ever do.
Contact the Adoption Agency
This is the very first step. Although it might sound simple, we know this takes a lot of courage for every birthmother to do. There might be fears and questions running through your head. Our care team spends every single day talking to birth mothers just like you. They have the answers you’re looking for, and they will help you understand what the next steps of the process look like.
Select an Adoptive Couple
Yes, as a birthmother at New Beginnings Adoptions, you get to select the adoptive family for your child. There are hundreds of couples who are looking to bring a child into their loving home. We know that every birthmother has different preferences, beliefs, and dreams for their child. It’s important to select a family who holds the values that are important to you.
Chose an Open/Closed/Semi-Open Adoption
You will decide what kind of contact you would like to have with your child and the adoptive family. We want you to feel comfortable with your decision. Our care team member will be able to describe these options in even greater detail.
Open Adoption
This means you can choose and meet the family and have the option of seeing the child again in the future.
Semi-Open Adoption
You may choose and meet the family, but there are limitations. Ongoing contact will be handled through the agency. The family will send pictures and letters to keep you updated. You can also send letters, gifts, and photos.
Closed Adoption
You have the option of having no contact after the child is placed. You may choose the family if you wish, but you are not required to do so.
New Beginnings Adoptions allows you to write your own adoption story and it can look however you want it to look for you. If you’re ready to learn more about how to make an adoption plan, contact one of our care team members!
