WAITING FAMILIES
Scott and Ali
Dear Birthmother,
First and foremost, we want to say thank you for choosing life. We believe what the Bible says about us being formed in our mothers wombs and that God knew us before we entered this world. We also realize that the decision to choose adoption may have not been an easy one, so thank you so much for choosing not only life but also adoption. Second, thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us! We know this is a hard time of planning and searching for the perfect parents and life for your baby, and we are honored that we are a couple to be considered. We pray that as you look through our profile, that God will lead you and guide you through this process.
We were led to adoption because God called us to it through His word. He adopted us through Jesus, His son, by the sacrifice that He made on the cross for our sins. We want to follow God’s example of loving us so much and adopting us through Christ by doing the same for a precious child. This is our first experience with adoption and are so excited to see what God has planned for us!
We promise to respect you and the level of openness that you are wanting through this process. It is our desire not only to provide a happy, loving, and Christ-centered home for this child but also to love you and make sure you know that your child is loved and has a happy life. We would love to send photos and updates as your child grows. We also promise to respect your privacy if that is what you need and want.
We will provide this child with a home and life full of love. This baby will always know the love and sacrifice you made. That is very important to us! We pray for wisdom, guidance, comfort, and strength for you along this journey! God bless you!
About Us
Hi! My name is Ali. I grew up in the country with my dad and mom and my two sisters. We spent a lot of time playing outside since we grew up on a big family property. My grandmother and grandfather, uncle and aunt, and cousins all lived on this property. We spent many days outside riding go-carts, playing in the fields, and fishing. I took piano lessons while growing up and voice lessons. I was also into musical theater as a child and recently have gotten back into musical theater! My dad owned a used car lot, and my mother was a stay at home mom. After I graduated from High School, I went to college where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I am currently a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor at an all women’s gym.
My name is Scott and I was born in Georgia. I grew up with my dad, mom, older sister and little brother. The four of us moved to north Georgia when I was still a toddler and lived there until 1989. In 1989 we moved to Kentucky and that fall my little brother was born. The 3 of us kids spent our time playing baseball, kickball, basketball and other outdoor games with our neighborhood friends. My dad was a health insurance underwriter(retired) and my mom was an elementary school teacher(retired). In high school I played football and won a State Championship then enrolled in college and joined the football team as a freshman. After a few stops along the way I graduated with a business degree and began working in the insurance industry as a sales representative. I worked my way up and even had my own insurance agency for a few years. I am now in a position that fits my skill set and experience as a Commercial Insurance Account Executive with a local insurance agency.
We met as next door neighbors. Yes, that’s correct, right next door to each other. We also later found out that we had mutual friendships but also went to church together. We dated for 6 months before we got engaged in October of 2013. We got married June 29, 2014 in the country at the Cotton Market Venue.
Our Home / Community
We live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with a bonus room upstairs. We love to have movie night together in our bonus room! We know several of our neighbors, and they are all very nice. There are children throughout the neighborhood who are always outside. It is a very large subdivision and we often see a wide range of aged kids out and about playing in the neighborhood. We live close to county schools that are within 5 miles of our home. Our child will attend a local private Christian Academy, though. We have several friends who send their children to this school and love it, but this school is also located directly behind our church which is a bonus! We live very close to shopping, restaurants, parks, and medical facilities.
We have a dog named Izzy who is 16 years old. She is a pug/boxer mix. We also have a miniature schnauzer named Jax who is 8 years old. He is full of joy and loves to talk to everyone!
Family Activities / Traditions
Our primary support system is our family on both sides. We are very close with our family and lean into them for help. We have a niece and a nephew who we love spending time with. Our niece dances and is a cheerleader. Our nephew plays soccer and t-ball. We go with Scott’s family to the beach every year in July. We always look forward to that trip as a family! Since Scott’s family does not live close to us we rotate Thanksgiving and Christmas each year between our families. It has worked out well with both of our families every year since we’ve been married.
We both lead Sunday school classes in our student ministry. Scott is also a deacon and leads in different ministries in our church. Our church has a membership of 800 and averages around 600 weekly in the service. We have a diverse church, but what we are most proud of is our church’s Special Needs Ministry called “The Four Friends Ministry.” It provides a special and unique ministry for our county. We love our church and have made several friends who support us.
Our Adoption Journey
We were led to adoption because God called us to it through His word. He calls us to take care of the widows and the orphans. Ali’s mother is a widow, and we moved to north Mississippi to help take care of her. We knew God wanted us to complete the other half of the task, so we want to follow His will. This is our first experience with adoption and are so excited to see what God has planned for us!
