Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for giving us this opportunity. We want you to know that even though we do not know you personally God does. We pray for you and the precious gift in your womb daily. God knows what you need in this very moment. Our prayer for you is that he will wrap his loving arms around you and that you will feel the comfort and peace that only He can give. We want you to know that we promise to love you and this precious gift unconditionally with every ounce of our being.

We thank you for choosing to consider an adoption plan for your child. As parents we know that was a decision that was not necessarily an easy one to make. We want you to know we are not perfect people and we do not have a perfect home. We are sinners, saved by God’s marvelous grace and we have a stable and happy home full of love. We respect and encourage one another and no matter what a day holds we end each day just being together our little family just loving on one another. There is so much turmoil in our world today, our home is our safe place our little refuge in the woods (literally) a quiet place where we enjoy each other’s presence.

Colby and Kasey

We were high school sweethearts. He was 17 and I was 16. We met through his cousin at the local drive-in restaurant. We became friends on day one and started dating soon after in June 2004. We had a Christmas wedding December 28, 2007. Now thirteen years into our marriage we are so thankful for the love and respect we have for one another. Although neither one of us are perfect we know and serve the perfect One. We have grown up together, best friends doing this thing called life together as a married couple ordained by God. We love God, each other, and our precious son and never take for granted the happy home that God has blessed us with.

Colby is just the husband I prayed for! He is quiet, kind, and gentle. He is an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys fishing, hunting, Nascar and riding horses. His favorite place to be is in Church with his family. He is truly the spiritual leader in our home. He works hard as a framer building cabinets to provide for our family.

Kasey is one the one who keeps our home running she is organized and a planner. Her loving caring nature can be seen by anyone who is around her. Caring for others, her family most of all, is a calling that she truly cherishes. She enjoys running, playing the piano, and spending time with her family. She works diligently as a Registered Nurse caring for those in our community.

We have one eleven-year-old amazing son. He is the sweetest fella. He never meets a stranger and genuinely loves everyone he meets. He is thrilled to be a big brother!

Our home is the place where we pray, play, forgive and celebrate. God allowed us to build a 3-bedroom home in 2011. Kasey wanted to build off the highway and that is exactly what we did. Our house is surrounded by hardwood trees and a big back yard. We live in a rural area just on the outskirts of a small town. We are 5 minutes from our home church and 15 minutes from work and school. We love our small town and the amazing people in it. We live within minutes of our extended and church family. our parents, grandparents, Kasey’s sister, and her family and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins’ area just a few miles away and we see all of them very often.

Our family loves the outdoors. In the Spring and Summer months we enjoy fishing, playing at the park, jumping on the trampoline, and going to the movies (our favorite is trips to the drive inn theater.) In the Fall and Winter months we enjoy trips to the pumpkin patch, the boys enjoy deer and bird hunting, and we are all three so excited to know Christmas is just around the corner when Wintertime approaches.

One of our favorite traditions is spending Thanksgiving in the Smoky Mountains we look forward to that quiet time enjoying God’s marvelous creation. We spend Easter and Christmas with our extended family. There is never a dull moment when you get our families together. Birthdays are special at our house we love a good celebration! Holidays are filled with family, love, laughter and usually pizza (Chance’s favorite!)

Although we know it is unsafe and not God’s will for us to conceive another biological child, we both have a heart’s desire to expand our family. Adoption was not a decision we quickly made. God laid it very heavily on both our hearts and we have prayed diligently to get that peace we needed that this was His plan for us. We have hearts full of love longing to share with the Child that God has in his plan for us. With blind faith we are fully trusting in His plan for our family.
