First we want to say, “You are amazing”. You are choosing to be brave and allow your child to come into the world and this makes you amazing. We also want you to know we are praying for you as you move forward in life.
Second, we hope you choose us. We cannot express how deeply they will be loved and how often we have prayed for this day. Below, you will find info about our lives. Please take time to pray over this decision. Then read on and catch a small glimpse of who we are. Just know we will love your baby with all our heart. Our plans, dreams, and life will revolve around them. We promise to cherish and to take care of them to the best of our ability. They will be loved with the deepest love and tender care. They will be surrounded by the most loving family, along with grandparents, and cousins galore. We will give our whole lives to this child. Our hearts will be filled with so much joy and it will be because you chose us. We want to thank you for considering us, and we wish nothing but the best for you and your future.
Darrell – Hi, I am 37 years old and here are a few things I love: God, my wife Jessica, my parents and in-laws, my family, reading books, golf, talking to people, grilling, the beach, traveling, traveling to get coffee, traveling to drink coffee…oh and I like coffee.
A little about me: I grew up in a small town surrounded by loving parents and friends. I’ve taken martial arts, a construction worker, a banker and an estimator for a large construction company. I graduated High School in 2001 and attended bible college for 4 years. During this time, I worked on youth committee and staff at our church from 2001 – 2013. In 2013 we were put on as full- time assistant youth pastors and then lead youth pastor until 2019. In 2019 we transitioned into full time evangelism while also serving as Youth President in our state for our organization.
Jessica – Hi, I am 29 years old and here are a few things I love: I grew in a small city, but was close enough to big city life. I have amazing, and hardworking parents. They taught me how to love others and to help those in need. My mom is one of my best friends! I love my family and I would do anything in the world for them. I attended a Christian school for my entire school tenure. I graduated High School in 2007 and attended Hinds Community College from 2007-2010 where I received an Associate in Liberal Arts. I enjoy playing tennis with my older brother in my spare time. I enjoy working in our flower beds and oddly enough I enjoy keeping a clean house. I have worked in a few different places and learned many new skills including, working for a credit/loan company, working in accounts payable and receivables. I have a heart for people, especially the young people of this generation. As my husband said in his bio., we have worked with young people for years and will continue to do so as long as we are given the opportunity.
We met in our church and immediately were drawn to one another, we dated for a few months and it was so real we got engaged and 8 months later we were married! We have now been married for 11-1/2 years. We love to spend time together and travel together. We are very close and have a wonderful relationship. We love coffee dates, and eat at a restaurant and just enjoy each other. We wouldn’t know what to do without each other and we love each other more than life itself.
We live in a single story house just outside the city limits. We have almost 2 acres of beautiful green grass. Our property borders one hundred acres of beautiful forest and lakes. We have two amazing neighbors. One is a retired couple, and the other is a retired grandmother in her late 70’s. In the spring, summer and fall we all visit at various times outside as we work on our yards, cook out or just simply walk over and visit. Our neighbor across the street is our Pastor and his wife, whom we love and admire dearly.
Our Favorite Room is our living room. We have incredible views of our backyard, which has deer, squirrels, fox, turkey and so many birds. We enjoy early mornings in our living room drinking coffee together while keeping an eye out for any wildlife.
Our backyard is our favorite spot outside. We have 3 trees, all of which are well over 100 years old and well over 100 foot tall. These Oaks are old and beautiful! They shade our yard most of the day, and in the fall when the leaves change they are simply beautiful.
We live over 100 yards from the road on a hill so our house is quiet and very safe. We live about 1 mile from a newly renovated park. The city just spent $25,000 updating the play area. As I am writing this, the 3 soccer fields are full of age 3-9 soccer and tee-ball games. Our community is a growing multi-cultural & family community. The elementary is on the far side of the park, and the middle school is on the near side, so our child will never be far from us.
So we are very big on family time. I (Darrell) came from a VERY large family. My dad has 13 brothers and sisters who all have multiple children. At last count his side of the family was almost 200 children, grands, nieces and nephews. My Mom had 9 brothers and sisters with nearly 30 additional cousins. Jessica’s mother has 2 brothers with 6 cousins and her dad has 5 brothers and 1 sister, all of who number nearly 30 as well. In both families we have multiple bi-racial and bi-lingual aunts, uncles and cousins. My Grandmother and both of Jessica’s grandmothers are alive and doing well. Both of our parents are alive and very healthy. They can hardly wait to be grandparents. We have represented: Native American Tribes of Choctaw and Cheyenne Indians, Guatemalan, Philipino, African-American, and Polish. So if you choose us, we promise your child will be in the most loving, open and kind environment possible.
Christmas is one of the most amazing times of year. Each of our families have Christmas at rotating grandmothers, and everyone shows up! We literally have Christmas dinner 4 days in a row! Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Easter and every other holiday you can think of…we all get together and grill and swim and just have a blast! We are teary eyed just thinking how much we love spending time with our families!
Our families go to Destin, FL each year. We rent 2 houses on the beach and we all spend a week together. Because of our calling to minister, we travel each January to St. Louis for 7 days, we travel to rotating cities each August as well. These cities include: Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN, Kansas City, Kansas, Oklahoma City, OK, Dallas, TX and this is just to name a few.
On even number years, we travel to Orlando, FL and visit Disney World with our family. We started this tradition when I was youth pastor and it has become a family tradition. This year, we are planning to be at Disney for the day it changes from Fall to Christmas décor. We love to be with family and love to travel.
Jessica and I have been to New York twice, to Canada, Nashville, Mobile AL, New Orleans, Austin, Atlanta and over 25 states.
OUR ADOPTION JOURNEY
Adoption is our way of adding extra love to our home while allowing a mother the option to have her child positioned in a place of safety. We have always had a lot of love to give. We were youth pastors of nearly 135 students. We spent 15 years opening our hearts to so many teens, but we never were able to have a child which was our own. We have transitioned from our position as a youth pastor, but still have a hole in our hearts which is just the right size for your baby. We will love your little one with every fiber of our being. We will nurture, protect and give them every opportunity to be the best little person God wants them to be.
