Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!  We understand that this is an incredibly difficult time for you, and we adore the fact that you are deciding to choose adoption for your precious baby. That is a decision that can’t be taken lightly, and we are so grateful for that choice. Hopefully, while you read this, you’ll get a glimpse into who we are, and the love that we already have for our future family. Since the day we were married 13 years ago, we have talked about having a family, and having adoption being part of that plan. The timing just never seemed right until now. We are on a journey to start our family, and can’t wait to see the plan that God has in store for us through this process. Regardless of the direction you choose for your child, please know that we are praying for you. We know that this isn’t an easy decision to make, and we pray that God guides your heart into the path that he has intended for your life. Please know that if you do decide to choose us to raise your baby, we will do everything in our power to make sure that they know how much they are loved.

With love and appreciation,

Eddie & Amanda

We met in 2005 while we were both in college, and spent several years traveling back and forth between our hometowns getting to know each other more. From the very beginning, we both had an inkling that this was the one, and decided to get married in 2008. Eddie is one of the most thoughtful and caring people I have ever known! He enjoys fishing, gardening, and anything that involves cars and racing. He is always up for an adventure and willing to explore new places. Amanda is the most dedicated and selfless person I have ever met.  She enjoys reading, crafting, and traveling.  She is passionate about teaching and helping her students succeed.

We currently live out in the country on 30 acres of land, in a brick ranch style home that has plenty of room for our growing family. This home is sentimental to Eddie, since it was built by his grandparents and he has lots of fond memories spent here as a child. It consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open floor plan in the living room, kitchen and dining room area.

One of our favorite things about this home is that it is located off the main road, and has very little traffic that comes through. This gives us a safe location for raising a family. It is also located walking distance from Eddie’s family, so we get to see them on a regular basis. Although we live in the country, we have a very ethnically diverse group of neighbors that live within a mile our two of our home. It is a quiet community, with lots of gardens, and four wheelers driving around.

The best part of where we live is that our home is surrounded by a large grassy area. We have the ability to plant a large garden every year, and also have plenty of room to play outside and explore.

We both come from very close families that loved to have family gatherings. We are blessed to live right down the road from Eddie’s parents, and enjoy going to their home every Sunday after church for dinner. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, we enjoy getting together with our extended families to celebrate and spend time together. Each summer and December, we spend a week in Wisconsin visiting with Amanda’s family. We also enjoy having her family come down for visits throughout the year.

A few years ago, we decided that during our life we wanted to visit all 50 states. Since that decision, we have started visiting different locations every summer. These trips have ranged from Washington D.C., Tennessee, Alabama, Michigan, and Wisconsin. We plan to continue this tradition and hopefully explore westward in the near future!

Ever since we were married, we have talked about adoption as being part of the plan on growing our family. As the years have flown by, we continued to talk about adopting, but never felt that the time was quite right.  Over the past two years, the tug on our heart strings has really picked up telling us that now was the time. During that time, we were working on remodeling our current house as well as trying to balance life during COVID. After completing the renovations, and moving into our current house, we felt that now is the time to take the next step, and start the adoption journey that we’ve known for so long was in God’s plan for our lives.
