WAITING FAMILIES
Nathan and Lakia
Dear Birthmother,
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little about us. We can only imagine how big and emotional this decision is for you, and we want you to know how much respect we have for your strength and love. No matter what you decide, we truly believe you are brave and selfless for considering adoption, and we are praying for you as you walk through this journey.
We feel incredibly honored to be considered as adoptive parents for your child. Our hearts are full of love, and it would be a blessing to welcome another child into our family.
Faith is at the center of our lives. We believe God is present in every season—both the joyful moments and the difficult ones—and we trust Him to guide each step of this journey. We want you to know that your child would be raised in a home filled with love, laughter, and a strong foundation of faith.
We also want you to know that if you choose us, your child will be deeply cherished—not just by us, but by a large, loving extended family. They will grow up surrounded by support, encouragement, and countless hugs from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Thank you again for considering us. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to share our hearts with you.
About Us
We are a young Christian family who truly values faith, family, and time spent together. We have a 3-year-old son who we adopted at birth, and he is the absolute joy of our lives. Becoming his parents has been one of the greatest blessings we’ve ever experienced, and it has only deepened our love for adoption.
As a couple, we are best friends. We genuinely enjoy spending time together—whether it’s something simple like watching a movie at home or planning our next family trip. We admire each other’s commitment to our family, our faith, and the life we are building together. We strive to support one another in everything we do and to create a home filled with encouragement and love.
We feel incredibly blessed with our family dynamic. Kia is a stay-at-home mom who pours so much love and attention into our son each day, and I work from home as an engineer. This allows us to be very present in our child’s life and to create meaningful, everyday memories together—something we never take for granted.
Our Home / Community
We live in a warm and welcoming two-story home with four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. One of our favorite spaces is the bonus room—it’s our cozy family hangout spot where we relax, watch movies, and play together. It has truly become the heart of our home, especially for our son, who loves using it as his playroom.
Our neighborhood is filled with young families and children, which creates a fun and lively environment. It’s a place where kids can play, friendships can grow, and neighbors genuinely care about one another.
We are also incredibly blessed to be part of a strong church community made up of many families in a similar stage of life. This community has been a huge source of support, friendship, and encouragement for us, and it plays an important role in our daily lives.
Family Activities / Traditions
Family time is something we truly treasure. We make it a priority to stay closely connected with both sides of our family, and we regularly spend time together. We are fortunate to live within a couple of hours of many of our relatives, which allows us to gather often for holidays, celebrations, and simple get-togethers.
Your child would be surrounded by a large, loving extended family. From grandparents to cousins, there is no shortage of love, laughter, and support.
We also love to travel as a family. We’ve been blessed with opportunities to explore places both in the U.S. and abroad, including a special family trip to Greece. Traveling allows us to create lasting memories and experience new cultures together, and it’s something we look forward to continuing with our children.
At home, we enjoy simple moments just as much—watching movies, playing games, and spending quality time together as a family.
Our Adoption Journey
Our journey to adoption has been one of the most meaningful parts of our lives. We were first led to adoption through a season of infertility. While we had always been open to adoption, that experience ultimately guided us to more deeply explore it—and we are so grateful it did. Through adopting our son, we’ve experienced firsthand the beauty of adoption and the incredible love that comes with it. It has truly shaped our hearts and our family in the best way.
We have chosen to grow our family through adoption again because we believe deeply in it. We feel called to provide a loving, stable, and faith-filled home for a child, and we are ready and excited to welcome another child into our lives.
We approach this journey with gratitude and humility. We know that adoption begins with a birthmother’s love, and we do not take that lightly. If you choose us, we promise to honor your decision, to love your child unconditionally, and to provide a life filled with care, opportunity, and strong values.
