Dear Birthmother,

Words can never express how thankful we are for a chance for you to learn about our family. Our hope is that through this you get a glimpse of our hearts and find peace in us. We pray for everyone involved in this journey and feel sure that God has a plan for both our family and yours.

Neil and I have been married for 13 years. We met while at junior college where he played baseball and I played on the softball team. We quickly became friends and in time started dating. We both went to school at Ole Miss where I studied pharmacy and Neil marketing and management. Neil also continued his baseball career as a pitcher for the Ole Miss Baseball team. We got married in 2005 and moved to a small community to start our careers. Today I work as an independent pharmacist and Neil owns an insurance agency. We both enjoy flexible work schedules. We have a 6 year old Labrador Retriever named Jake. At 90 pounds, he’s a big baby that loves to play fetch, run and play, and just spend time by our sides. He loves to be “loved on” and is always eager to please. He’s truly a man’s best friend.

It has always been our dream to buy land and build a house and in 2016 that dream became a reality. We bought 10 acres right outside of town and built our home. We have a 2 story, 3 Bedroom, 3.5 bath home with 2 large bonus rooms upstairs. Our home has lots of natural light so that we can enjoy the outdoors all the time. We see wildlife constantly right from our living room windows. We feel as though everything happens in the kitchen and love to cook together so we built a large kitchen that opens into our family room.

Gardening is one of our favorite past times. We enjoy just watching all the fruits and vegetables grow, but there’s also a great sense of pride to eat food that you took so much time to produce. We love to cook and have family and friends over for companionship.

Besides gardening, Neil and I enjoy most outdoor activities. One of our favorite things to do together is to go saltwater fishing in the Louisiana marsh. Our favorites to catch are red fish, trout, and red snapper. They’re quite the thrill. We also enjoy the company of our families on these fishing trips. We look forward to time spent on the water; the views can be stunning.

Traveling is another one of our past times. We love to find a new adventure whether it is on a remote island in the British Virgin Islands or on the top of a ski mountain in Colorado.

Neil is also an avid hunter. He enjoys spending time in the woods, admiring the wildlife and marveling at God’s creations.

Neil and I both come from large families. I have one older brother and an identical twin sister. People still mistaken us for each other almost every day. Neil has one brother and one sister. All of our siblings have children so we enjoy very lively get-togethers. We have 11 nieces and nephews that we absolutely adore and enjoy spending time with. Their ages range from 6 years to 18 years.

We enjoy gathering on both sides of the family for the holidays. Our favorite is Christmas. We have a tradition each year where we have a “Christmas candy making” party. It’s a large gathering of family and friends and we enjoy everything about it. We plan all year for the party and anticipate the recipes that will be used.

Our journey of adoption hasn’t always been clear to us. We spent several years spinning our wheels trying to figure out God’s plan for us and why we had no kids of our own. It’s always been on our hearts, but we were, for some reason, unable to act on it. Finally, we felt strong enough about it to put the plan in action. We knew that if God put it on our hearts for so long, then it must be His plan for us. Our hearts are wide open to accept whatever He has in store for us, because we know His will is greater than ours
